About this Service
HireLocal.ca is a project managed by The Centre for Skills Development & Training and funded by Employment Ontario. Its purpose is to build awareness of free, local recruiting services in Peel and Halton region to help small to mid-sized employers with their hiring needs. After conducting focus groups and individual interviews with local area employers, it was determined employers are interested in connecting with free, government-funded services to help them with hiring if it is done “right”, including the following:
- Create an intuitive website where employers can search for free services or send a job order/posting directly to these services
- The services listed on the website must be free, located in Peel or Halton region, and have the ability to pre-screen potential candidates on behalf of the employer
This website and free service has been developed with the needs of the small to mid-sized employer in mind.
